About Blooming Moon Wellness Spa
I believe living life in balance is the key to total wellness. Wellness begins with the awareness that balance is dynamic, flowing in a natural rhythm unique to every individual. At Blooming Moon we encourage every guest, as well as the spa professional, to strive for balance and wellness. My goal is to create an atmosphere where spa professionals and guests can be nurtured simultaneously. Therefore, our guests always receive quality spa services and undivided attention, which often will not be found in other spas. I believe energy runs through and connects us to each other, especially through touch. When you experience a treatment with someone who is entirely present and has the intention to calm your mind, lift your spirits, or provide pampering bliss, the act effortlessly prevails! We strive to bring this type of connection to every visitor. So, with much love, I deliver you Blooming Moon Wellness Spa.
Owner + Esthetician
My passion for skin care began with makeup artistry. I dabbled in photography makeup, mostly for bands, independent films and other small projects. In 2003 I realized I needed my esthetician’s license to do makeup on major films. I quickly signed up for the AVEDA institute in New Mexico and this is when my passion and talent for skin care and waxing really began. After moving to Portland in 2005, I fell in love with this sweet city and I knew Portland was my home. Therefore, creating a spa business doing exactly what I love, in my favorite city, was music to my ears! I have a quick and painless approach to waxing, therefore I can speed wax like nobody’s business. I love the art of brow waxing and I can deliver nearly pain-free Brazilian waxes. I have a whole body approach to skin care. It began with studying and practicing holistic, Ayurvedic esthetics. I have experience with all skin types and would love the opportunity to guide you on your journey to gorgeous skin. My approach to beautiful, radiant skin is to be both mentally and physically healthy. My objective is to achieve and maintain a state of whole body wellness for my clientele. Through preventative facials, which include acupressure, massage, and high quality skin care products, I am able to treat mild skin conditions before they develop into more serious health problems, while relaxing your mind and body.

Jennifer Cramer, Retail Manager + Booking Coordinator
I’m a native Washingtonian who moved to Portland from Santa Fe in 2013. Within a couple months of moving back to the Pacific Northwest, I found myself working at a healing center, and I have been a huge believer in the importance of self care ever since. I know firsthand how beneficial a regular massage regimen is to one’s quality of life; I also love the feeling of renewed confidence after a service such as a facial–that confidence sends positive ripples back out into the world! Being good to yourself should be viewed as a basic kindness and an integral part of a well-balanced life. My other personal interests include traveling to new countries (and London, always London), photography, theater, and any exercise class that allows me to move to music with ridiculously strong bass beats. I look forward to assisting guests on their journey toward, or in maintenance of, a holistically healthy and happy life. Please contact me if you have any inquires about the product lines we carry – firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jena Sanchez, Lead Esthetician
My first love, as far as my profession goes, has always been makeup. I’ve worked for various brands and then went on to freelance. I love the transformation and confidence as well as creativity that makeup offers. While I enjoy creating different looks, my favorite makeup work is bridal work. I love making women feel beautiful on their big days! This soon translated to a love of skincare. I learned that the basis for all beautiful makeup is beautiful skin. Helping people to feel good in their own skin became such a reward… the makeup is now just the icing on the cake! So if you have a big event or just want to know how to apply makeup on yourself, I would love to help you with either one or both!
My goal as an Esthetician is to help YOU achieve YOUR goals for your skin, so expect questions from me as well as a game plan we can execute together. If you just want to relax and feel pampered, I love doing that too. The facial massage is my favorite part of a facial! I got my Esthetics license in 2010 and have been licensed in several different states. I love the mobility this industry offers me. I was born and raised in the beautiful island state of Hawaii and I’ve lived in California, Texas and New Mexico. I moved to Portland in September of 2016 and must say I had no idea what to expect but have been really enjoying myself. I love new experiences and new foods, so if anyone has any recommendations for me feel free to let me know!
Ashley Wagner, Esthetician
My passion for esthetics began through struggles with my own skin. I discovered that making changes to my diet, choosing clean skin care products, and receiving regular facials made a world of difference. This translated into wanting to help others reach their skin care goals. Because I believe in a holistic approach to skin care, I attended the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis. At Aveda, I learned how to implement Ayurvedic massage techniques into every facial to help clients relax and feel rejuvenated. I specialize in brow shaping and have mastered the art of creating the perfect shape for each face. I also have a background in Psychology and received a graduate certificate in Holistic Health from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Being new to Portland, I love meeting new people, especially if you’re a dog lover like me! I can’t wait to meet you and make you feel and look your best!
Devonie Bowman, Lead Nail Tech + Esthetician
I’m Devonie! I have been practicing as a dual-licensed nail technician and esthetician in the Portland area since 2016. I enjoy performing luxury pedicures and manicures, custom facials, microdermabrasion, and body treatments to help my clients escape into the ultimate spa experience. I consistently educate myself on ingredients and new techniques to enhance my skills and develop my signature style. My passion for skincare began at a young age, when I faced skin concerns of my own. I became determined to learn how to take care of my skin in the best way possible and to help others do the same. I believe self-care is a crucial part of a wellness regimen, which is why I love creating specialized treatments and home-care routines for my clients to receive the best possible outcome based on their personal needs. I am a huge advocate for less waste in the industry, and working at one of Portland’s green spas is the best place to do that! In my current role at Blooming Moon as the Lead Nail Technician, my main goal is to keep our treatments as eco-friendly and natural as possible, so our clients can feel good about every aspect of the treatments they receive. I am passionate about holistic care, and truly believe that beauty begins from the inside out – which is why I incorporate nutrition, nature, and movement into my daily life. In my free time you’ll find me walking in parks and hiking to local viewpoints, out at the movies with my fiancé, or challenging myself with a new yoga pose!
Teagan Aborn-Duffy, Esthetician + Natural Nail Technician
license#COS-FT-10190817 / COS-NT-10190816
My interest in the world of beauty began at a very young age. I was constantly asking family members and friends to let me do their makeup and paint their nails. After starting the full cosmetology program at Aveda Institute Portland, it became clear that I was on the perfect career path. The ability to connect with people through something as meaningful as self care is my absolute favorite part of working in this industry.
I graduated from Aveda in April of 2018, and have been with Blooming Moon ever since. I was born and raised just down the street from our location here in North Portland, so the spa feels just like a second home to me! I love being able to feel good about the products that I’m using and recommending for my clients, and here at Blooming Moon we carry all of my favorite environmentally conscious, naturally-derived skincare lines. I also deeply appreciate the way that myself and my team members can creatively express ourselves through our work and support each other! I’ve been practicing tarot for a few years now, and never would have dreamed that I’d be able to intertwine my passion for tarot reading with my career in the beauty industry, but Blooming Moon has made that a reality. Outside of the spa, I enjoy going to concerts, getting out into nature with friends, and petting as many dogs as possible. I look forward to helping you relax, unwind, and reach your self care goals!
Qian Dougan, Nail Tech
Growing up I loved experimenting with makeup and fashion. I remember I used to try and rock blue eyeshadow (mind you I had no idea how to correctly apply it) in middle school because it was the only color my mom owned at the time. Thank goodness I have evolved from then. I used to paint my nails in the middle of the night with all my windows open because my dad hated the smell. I can look back now and laugh because sometimes he’d still be able to smell it in his sleep and I’d get a talking to the next morning. I attended Beau Monde Academy for the nail technician program somewhat on a whim! I was feeling like I had reached a standstill in my college studies and yearned to get a trade that would enable me to work with my hands. Having the opportunity to work at Blooming Moon has been such a blessing and a treat. The environment, the team members and the clients have all allowed me to truly enjoy what I do. The most satisfying part of doing nail services is the before and after results clients can see for themselves immediately. It’s easy to overlook our hands and feet, however with how much we use them in our day to day lives, it makes a world of a difference when clients can leave the spa feeling clean, rejuvenated and rocking their favorite color. It’s the small things in life, right? My favorite part about my position as a nail technician is getting to know people’s life stories and connecting with clients in crazy ways, (working here has made me realize just how small the world is). I look forward to meeting you, hearing your stories, learning from you and providing you with a relaxing and rewarding service.
Kayla Moak, Massage Therapist
I have been practicing massage therapy for 6 years and counting. Bodywork is truly a rewarding profession and I feel so blessed to be able to share the gift of touch with others through therapeutic massage. It often has a profound impact on people’s health and well-being which is why I got into massage. I wanted to spend my days working in a more meaningful way. I have always had a strong sense of compassion for others. When you combine that with the knowledge of bodywork, I believe it is truly powerful.
I like to approach the muscles gently, letting you breathe easy. Using firm and effective pressure to assist the body in its natural healing method, I will listen to you and work with you to give you the massage you need. Stress relief is always my main goal. A few of my favorite things are Swedish massage, aromatherapy massage, our Camellia head and neck treatment, and any of our body treatments or body scrubs! I am happy to be a part of the team here at Blooming Moon where we use only the best natural products and we genuinely care about your balance and wellness. Outside of Blooming Moon I enjoy going to concerts, going on adventures with friends, and watching anime with my two cats, Jack and Misa. I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you stay well!
Holly Barnett, Massage Therapist
Kelsey Cromwell, Massage Therapist
Bodywork and self care ring synonymous to me. I approach each client individually with a goal of therapeutic relaxation and to create relief from painful symptoms. During my education at East West College of the Healing Arts I gained not only a kinesthetic knowledge of the body, but also a therapeutic way to treat symptoms from physical trauma (car accidents, falls, repetitive injuries, etc.). I specialize in deep tissue techniques including neuromuscular therapy, hot stone therapy, sports massage, and a love of prenatal massage. I am absolutely excited and motivated to make you feel like the best you.
Jennice Rodriguez, Massage Therapist
Originally from the high desert of Reno, Nevada, I’m new on my journey to sharing massage with the Portland community. I attended East West College and am trained in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial release, Trigger Point therapy, and Tui Na massage. While in college, I began taking classes in Reiki and Quantum touch. After seeing the effects that hands off work could do, I was eager to learn more. Combining my love of travel and the body, I studied Thai massage in Thailand and completed a Bhakti yoga certification in Peru in 2016. As a young athlete my first introduction to massage left me inspired and curious to understand the potential of healing touch at a very young age. I describe my style of work to be both firm, yet nurturing as I use a variety of techniques to address the source of discomfort and tension. My hope is to bring a sense of empowerment to my clients as they seek to better understand and restore their unique body, and sees the opportunity to share massage as a beautiful gesture of trust on behalf of both parties involved. I have a difficult time staying inside when not massaging, and I can be found gallivanting about new landscapes hiking, snowboarding, hot springing, and finding new ways to tune into my own body through dance and movement.
