About Us
I believe living life in balance is the key to total wellness. Wellness begins with the awareness that the balance is dynamic, flowing in a natural rhythm unique to every individual. At Blooming Moon we encourage every guest, as well as the spa professional, to strive for balance and wellness. My goal is to create an atmosphere where spa professionals and guests can be nurtured simultaneously. Therefore, our guests always receive quality spa services and undivided attention, which often will not be found in regular spas. I believe energy runs through and connects us to each other, especially through touch. When you experience a treatment with someone who is entirely present and has the intention to calm your mind, lift your spirits, or provide pampering bliss, the act effortlessly prevails! We strive to bring this type of connection to every guest visiting Blooming Moon. So, with so much love, I deliver you Blooming Moon Wellness Spa & Bathhouse.
Warmly, Ginny

Ginny Tousignant, Owner/Esthetician
My passion for skin care began with makeup artistry. I dabbled in photography makeup, mostly for bands, independent films and other small projects. In 2003 I realized I needed my esthetician’s license to do makeup on major films. I quickly signed up for the AVEDA institute in New Mexico and this is when my passion and talent for skin care and waxing really began. After moving to Portland in 2005, I fell in love with this sweet city and I knew Portland was my home. Therefore, creating a spa business doing exactly what I love, in my favorite city, was music to my ears! I have a quick and painless approach to waxing, therefore I can speed wax like nobody’s business. I love the art of brow waxing and I can deliver nearly pain-free Brazillian waxes. I have a whole body approach to skin care. It began with studying and practicing holistic, ayurvedic esthetics. I have experience with all skin types and would love the opportunity to guide you on your journey to gorgeous skin. My approach to beautiful, radiant skin is to be both, mentally and physically healthy. The skin is the largest organ of the body, and our primary route for releasing toxins and absorbing nutrients. When we have skin problems like acne, rosacea, psoriasis, etc. it is our body’s way of alerting us of an internal imbalance. Improving our skin through eating healthy foods, exercise, and happiness will resolve and prevent most skin concerns. Balancing our physical, spiritual, and emotional state is the path to inner and outer beauty. My objective is to achieve and maintain a state of whole body wellness for my clientele. Through preventative facials, which include acupressure, massage, and high quality skin care products, I am able to treat mild skin conditions before they develop into more serious health problems, while relaxing your mind and body.
Trish Sternthal, LMT
I have been a massage therapist for over 10 years. I began my career in Austin, TX after completing education from the Lauterstein-Conway School of Massage. After moving to Portland I studied at East West College of Massage and Zen Shiatsu Portland. I live in the Alberta Arts/Vernon neighborhood and love interacting with those in the community. I choose Blooming Moon because of its warm and inviting atmosphere, their commitment to providing and using pure and vegan products and the very friendly team of top-notch professionals.
My massage treatment is focused on slow, deep movement to balance the mind and body and allow muscles to deeply relax. My specialties include: Zen Shiatsu, Swedish massage, deep tissue, pregnancy massage, Reiki, and Craniosacral therapy. I often combine techniques tailored to best address my clients individual needs. I believe bodywork is an integral part of keeping physically fit and mentally balanced. In addition, through my Shiatsu work with the Immune Enhancement Project, I have experience working with multiple sclerosis, HIV, arthritis, and cancer patients. My strengths lie in creating comfort, relaxation and therapeutic relief.
Kimmy Hale, LMT
Licensed in Oregon since March 2006, I love showing people that they can have relief from long-lasting pain and posture problems that they thought were “just how my body is.” Using myofascial methods combined with classic Swedish Massage and Sports Massage techniques, clients dealing with stress, post-surgical and injury related issues and postural deviations have received amazing results from my work. I am also experienced in migraine treatment, scar tissue work, and treating those with chronic pain issues. I believe that reducing overall stress, both emotional and mechanical, is one of the most important aspects of massage, and a necessary part of treating the mind-body-spirit as a whole. During my career I have been blessed with the chance to work with many wonderful clients, teachers, and healers who have enriched my work. I feel that massage is a true Calling for me.
Serena Harker, LMT
I graduated from East West College of Healing Arts here in Portland, in 2006. I have always dreamt of being a massage therapist since I was a child. I love connecting with clients and I am committed to improving their quality of life through massage. I have a deep understanding of how massage nurtures the mind, body, and spirit, and through therapy, transpires this understanding. My technique is soothing and relaxing, mixing deep tissue with passive stretches-clients leave saying, I “transported them some where between heaven and earth.” My future goal is to study and master the art of Thai massage and bring that to Blooming Moon. I love the relaxed atmosphere for both staff and clients at Blooming Moon, this environment cultivates a beautiful space with creativity and peace.
Patricia Thompson, Esthetician/Nail Technician
A New Mexican native, I moved up to the Pacific Northwest in 2007 and I knew Portland was a place to call home. A city with a laid back life style and a wonderful taste for good food where ever you go, I fell in love with a place that is so alive. As a teenager with problematic skin I was desperate for a natural way to help my skin. I came across a local holistic esthetician that really helped with getting my skin under control. From then on I was intrigued with the field of skin care. So at the end of June 2011, I graduated with a license in Esthetics and Nail Technology. I find my self constantly wanting to learn more and improve on my skills in this evolving industry, so that I may serve clients with what their skin needs and help individuals with their skin care goals. I feel that everyone should love the skin they live in and after a long day on the job your hands and feet deserve to be pampered as well.
I was certified in Facial Threading back in October 2011. I find myself very passionate about the ancient art form of hair removal. After having it done personally, learning threading technique, and practicing it on others, I find it to have amazing results not only in shape and form but for those clients with certain skin sensitivities.
Working at Blooming Moon is a real joy for me. It’s a place that is unlike any other spa. It’s a place where you will not only be pampered, but pampered by people with a passion for what they do. I take great pride in what I do and I am very passionate about my work.
Julie Farnsworth, Makeup Artist
A few days after moving to Portland in 2009, I landed at Funnelbox Production Studios- where I continue to serve as the makeup artist, wardrobe stylist, and art director on various TV commercials [including clients such as Nike, HP, and Les Schwab Tires].
For me, reading the book Not Just a Pretty Face by Stacy Malkan was life changing in the way I shop for cosmetics and products. I stand behind Blooming Moon Spa and Ginny’s commitment to carrying innovative cosmetic + skincare lines like Alima Pure– products that are local, cruelty-free, and dedicated to protecting our environment AND our health.
