About Blooming Moon Wellness Spa
I believe living life in balance is the key to total wellness. Wellness begins with the awareness that balance is dynamic, flowing in a natural rhythm unique to every individual. At Blooming Moon we encourage every guest, as well as the spa professional, to strive for balance and wellness. My goal is to create an atmosphere where spa professionals and guests can be nurtured simultaneously. Therefore, our guests always receive quality spa services and undivided attention, which often will not be found in other spas. I believe energy runs through and connects us to each other, especially through touch. When you experience a treatment with someone who is entirely present and has the intention to calm your mind, lift your spirits, or provide pampering bliss, the act effortlessly prevails! We strive to bring this type of connection to every visitor. So, with much love, I deliver you Blooming Moon Wellness Spa.
Owner + Esthetician
My passion for skin care began with makeup artistry. I dabbled in photography makeup, mostly for bands, independent films and other small projects. In 2003 I realized I needed my esthetician’s license to do makeup on major films. I quickly signed up for the AVEDA institute in New Mexico and this is when my passion and talent for skin care and waxing really began. After moving to Portland in 2005, I fell in love with this sweet city and I knew Portland was my home. Therefore, creating a spa business doing exactly what I love, in my favorite city, was music to my ears! I have a quick and painless approach to waxing, therefore I can speed wax like nobody’s business. I love the art of brow waxing and I can deliver nearly pain-free Brazilian waxes. I have a whole body approach to skin care. It began with studying and practicing holistic, ayurvedic esthetics. I have experience with all skin types and would love the opportunity to guide you on your journey to gorgeous skin. My approach to beautiful, radiant skin is to be both mentally and physically healthy. My objective is to achieve and maintain a state of whole body wellness for my clientele. Through preventative facials, which include acupressure, massage, and high quality skin care products, I am able to treat mild skin conditions before they develop into more serious health problems, while relaxing your mind and body.

Elisha Scheideler, Social Media + Retail Manager
Jena Sanchez, Lead Esthetician
My first love, as far as my profession goes, has always been makeup. I’ve worked for various brands and then went on to freelance. I love the transformation and confidence as well as creativity that makeup offers. While I enjoy creating different looks, my favorite makeup work is bridal work. I love making women feel beautiful on their big days! This soon translated to a love of skincare. I learned that the basis for all beautiful makeup is beautiful skin. Helping people to feel good in their own skin became such a reward… the makeup is now just the icing on the cake! So if you have a big event or just want to know how to apply makeup on yourself, I would love to help you with either one or both!
My goal as an Esthetician is to help YOU achieve YOUR goals for your skin, so expect questions from me as well as a game plan we can execute together. If you just want to relax and feel pampered, I love doing that too. The facial massage is my favorite part of a facial! I got my Esthetics license in 2010 and have been licensed in several different states. I love the mobility this industry offers me. I was born and raised in the beautiful island state of Hawaii and I’ve lived in California, Texas and New Mexico. I moved to Portland in September of 2016 and must say I had no idea what to expect but have been really enjoying myself. I love new experiences and new foods so if anyone has any recommendations for me feel free to let me know!
Tatum Waters, Esthetician
I studied Esthetics at Beau Monde Academy here in Portland and find joy in helping others feel and look their best. Born and raised in Texas, I’m the embodiment of southern hospitality and provide an artistic eye to all that I do. I am attentive to detail and dwell in the power of positivity, and believe mutual empowerment is key. I strive to provide a level of comfort and confidence to those I meet, and am ready to help clients achieve their skincare and beauty goals, one face at a time.………….………..………….
Teagan Aborn-Duffy, Esthetician + Natural Nail Technician
license#COS-FT-10190817 / COS-NT-10190816
My interest in the world of beauty began at a very young age— I was always asking family and friends to let me paint their nails and do their makeup. By the time I was starting high school, I knew I wanted a career in esthetics and nails. After starting the full cosmetology program at Aveda Institute Portland in 2016, I realized that holistic skin care was my calling. I love implementing Ayurvedic techniques into every service I provide, to help each guest de-stress while making them look and feel beautiful! I was born and raised here in the heart of North Portland, and I am beyond excited to begin my career at Blooming Moon— with environmentally conscious products, a beautiful and inviting atmosphere, and a wonderful team of people! When I’m not in the spa I enjoy reading tarot cards, studying astrology, hiking, and baking. I look forward to helping you relax and reach your skin care goals!
Growing up I loved experimenting with makeup and fashion. I remember I used to try and rock blue eyeshadow (mind you I had no idea how to correctly apply it) in middle school because it was the only color my mom owned at the time. Thank goodness I have evolved from then. I used to paint my nails in the middle of the night with all my windows open because my dad hated the smell. I can look back now and laugh because sometimes he’d still be able to smell it in his sleep and I’d get a talking to the next morning. I attended Beau Monde Academy for the nail technician program somewhat on a whim! I was feeling like I had reached a standstill in my college studies and yearned to get a trade that would enable me to work with my hands. Having the opportunity to work at Blooming Moon has been such a blessing and a treat. The environment, the team members and the clients have all allowed me to truly enjoy what I do. The most satisfying part of doing nail services is the before and after results clients can see for themselves immediately. It’s easy to overlook our hands and feet, however with how much we use them in our day to day lives, it makes a world of a difference when clients can leave the spa feeling clean, rejuvenated and rocking their favorite color. It’s the small things in life, right? My favorite part about my position as a nail technician is getting to know people’s life stories and connecting with clients in crazy ways, (working here has made me realize just how small the world is). I look forward to meeting you, hearing your stories, learning from you and providing you with a relaxing and rewarding service.
Kayla Moak, Massage Therapist
I have been practicing massage therapy for 6 years and counting. Bodywork is truly a rewarding profession and I feel so blessed to be able to share the gift of touch with others through therapeutic massage. It often has a profound impact on people’s health and well-being which is why I got into massage. I wanted to spend my days working in a more meaningful way. I have always had a strong sense of compassion for others. When you combine that with the knowledge of bodywork, I believe it is truly powerful.
I like to approach the muscles gently, letting you breathe easy. Using firm and effective pressure to assist the body in its natural healing method, I will listen to you and work with you to give you the massage you need. Stress relief is always my main goal. A few of my favorite things are Swedish massage, aromatherapy massage, our Camellia head and neck treatment, and any of our body treatments or body scrubs! I am happy to be a part of the team here at Blooming Moon where we use only the best natural products and we genuinely care about your balance and wellness. Outside of Blooming Moon I enjoy going to concerts, going on adventures with friends, and watching anime with my two cats, Jack and Misa. I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you stay well!………..
Olen Ward, Massage Therapist
My name is Olen and I am a Medical Massage Therapist.
12 years ago I began a journey. This journey of self discovery in the health and healing industry opened my eyes to a new world. I attended 2 seperate schools in Portland, Oregon; East West & Oregon School of Massage. Within those 3 years of training I learned a ton about the body. During the last few months of school I worked in a teaching clinic called Brooklyn Total Health Center. During the four years I worked at Brooklyn, I learned more about the body than being in school. I took that education and began yet another journey towards Health and Wellness.Since then, I have worked in hospice, at U.C. Berkeley and a few other clinics developing my massage techniques in recovery, somatic, trauma, PTSD and relaxation.
My work consists of Eastern and Western Modalities which lengthen the muscles while smoothing out the kinks. It is my pleasure to be of service and help you back to your homeostasis.
Melissa Lema, Massage Therapist
My approach to bodywork emphasizes nourishment for your mind and for your body. I have a background in customer service and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology which lead me to pursue a career where I could connect with people in my community and promote wellness. I am originally from Ashland, Oregon and when I’m not at the spa I enjoy exploring our beautiful state, listening to live music and hanging out with my pets. I studied massage here in Portland with a focus on Deep tissue, Swedish, and Trigger Point therapy; I also have training in aromatherapy, hot stone and prenatal massage. Whether you want to increase mobility, reduce pain, or simply relieve muscle tension, I will work with you to customize your treatment and reach your goals. I typically use a mix of both therapeutic and relaxation techniques which will leave you feeling calm and rejuvenated long after your massage is over!
