Blooming Moon skin care professionals prefer natural diamond tips wand for microdermabrasion because they are easier to control and don’t irritate the skin. Unlike the older microdermabrasion treatments done with crystals, the diamond treatments use a natural mineral (diamond); therefore there is no danger or adverse skin reactions. Most doctors agree that the aluminum oxide crystals are not dangerous when ingested and is safe for use with skin resurfacing treatments, but there is a great deal of controversy in the medical community about its side effects.
For the sake of both perceived safety and effectiveness, crystal microdermabrasion machines (with aluminum oxide or sodium bicarbonate crystals) are slowly being phased out and replaced with diamond microdermabrasion machines.
The diamond tip microdermabrasion wand can also get closer to the eyes and mouth area and has a more accurate abrasion. Microdermabrasion using crystals can often leave residue in nose, ears and eyes, which often causes skin irritation, allergic reactions and may be ingested. Another win for diamond tip wands: no risk of stray crystals causing damage or being ingested!
WHY IS MICRODERMABRASION BENEFICIAL?
Approximately every 26-28 days our body creates a new layer of skin. As new cells form they push their way to the surface and then dead cells settle on the surface. As we age this process slows down leading to the appearance of older skin with less radiance.
Not exfoliating dead skin cells can cause enlarged & clogged pores, a bumpy uneven texture, and a dull appearance. Microdermabrasion abrades the outer layer of the skin (about 10-20 microns of skin cells). This layer is only made of dead skin cells, which is why this procedure is noninvasive.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS DOES IT TAKE?
Just like having a consistent healthy diet & exercising, microdermabrasion has the noticeable results done on a continuous and regular basis. The best results are obtained after 6 to 12 sessions (depending on your expectations and severity of skin imperfections.)
WHO IS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR PHOTO-DERMABRASION?
Everyone – men and women of any skin type or color.
Skin that is aging, congested, flaky, dry, devitalized, thickened, blemished, dull and sun damaged can be rejuvenated and refreshed. Blotchiness, uneven skin tones and texture will also be improved. Even normal skin can be made to look fresher with a warm glow.
